StyletorPrivacy policy
Summary
Styletor is a video, photo and template editor. Your videos, photos and projects stay on your phone. Editing, subtitles, voice / music separation, background removal and face detection run on your phone; we do not upload your media to our servers to do them.

What stays on your phone
Your clips, photos, projects, templates, styles, exports, settings and the "My words" list are stored in the app's private storage on your phone. They are not backed up to the cloud by the app. Deleting the app deletes them (videos you saved to your gallery stay in your gallery).
When something leaves your phone
- Reel links: when you paste or share an Instagram, TikTok or YouTube link, the app opens that page in a built-in browser to play and study the reel. Those sites receive the request like any browser and may set their own cookies. If you sign in to Instagram inside the app, that sign-in is kept on your phone only; you can remove it in Settings.
- Song recognition (optional): only if you add your own AudD key, a short piece of the reel's sound is sent to AudD (audd.io) to name the song.
- Downloads: the speech model for subtitles is downloaded from alphacephei.com, and translation language packs from Google, the first time you use those features. Nothing about you is sent with these downloads other than what any download needs (such as your IP address).
Accounts and free trial (when switched on)
If you create an account we store your email address, a user ID, your trial and subscription status, the app version, and a one-way fingerprint of your phone (a scrambled code made from a device identifier; it cannot be turned back into the identifier). We use the fingerprint only to make sure each phone gets one free trial. Accounts are run on Google Firebase. [State the region you choose, e.g. Mumbai, India.]
Payments (when switched on)
Subscriptions are paid through Google Play or the Apple App Store. We never see or store your card or bank details. We receive confirmation that you subscribed, the plan, and its renewal / expiry dates, through our subscription service provider [RevenueCat].
Ads (only if ads are switched on in future)
The app currently shows no ads. If ads are added later, this policy will be updated first and, where the law requires, you will be asked for consent.
Feedback and support messages
When you send a report or idea from "Feedback & ideas", we receive what you write, the part of the app you picked, the screenshots or screen recording you attach, the app version, phone model and Android version, and - only if you leave "Include technical details" on - the app's recent error messages (never your videos or photos). An email address is included only if you type one. Reports are linked to a random code for your phone, not to your name. We use them only to fix problems and plan features, and delete them after 180 days. Without internet a report waits on your phone until it can be sent.
How long we keep data
Account data is kept while your account exists. When you delete your account (Menu > Account > Delete my account) we delete it from our server within 30 days. We keep only the one-way phone fingerprint marked "trial used", with no link to you, to prevent free-trial misuse, and records the law requires us to keep.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or withdraw consent, by writing to support@styletor.app. In India this includes your rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023; in the EU / UK your GDPR rights. [Name a grievance officer if required.]
Children
Styletor is not meant for children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect data from children.
Security
Sign-in tokens are encrypted on your phone. All connections use HTTPS. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
Changes
We will update this page and the date above when anything changes, and tell you in the app about important changes.
